Night Owl: An Evening Look

I don't really do big nights out these days. Usually because of a lack of money, time or interest. I'll sooner choose a live gig or a night on the couch, watching dvd's and drinking tea, than trotting around a dance floor toting an overpriced glass of bubbly. Still, on the rare occasions I do...ahem...'club' (usually on someone's birthday, as was the case here) I relish in dressing up. Here's a little evening look I had fun putting together before a birthday bash in the city the other night.

Foundation: Bourjois Healthy Mix in 52 Vanilla
Concealer: Rimmel Match Perfection in 010 Ivory with Benefit Powderflage over the top
Eyebrows: Rimmel Brow Pencil in 002 Hazel with MAC Blush in Frankly Scarlet over the top
Eyeshadow: MAC Paintpot in Bare Study & MAC Matte Eyeshadow in Blackberry
Eyeliner: Combination of MAC Gel Liner in Blacktrack & Maybelline Masterprecise Liquid Liner
Eyelashes: Maybelline Full n' Soft Mascara in Very Black & Paperself False Lashes in Deer and Butterfly
Blush: Bourjois Blusher in 34 Rose D'Or
Setting Powder: Maxfactor Transluscent Powder
Lips: Silk Oil Of Morocco Lip Gloss in Ruby
Jacket: Op Shop
Earrings: Diva
I have a mad love affair with these lashes!
As you can see, I finally got around to adorning my eyes with the amazing Deer and Butterfly false eyelashes by Paperself. Some of you might remember me swooning over them in this post. With a pair of nail scissors, I turned them into accent lashes and tried to make the sweet little butterflies the main point of focus. They deserved the attention!

xx.

    1. They're wonderful aren't they?! They're so unusual, and never fail to make me feel glamorous. I've worn the Peach Blossoms and also own the Lace Garden ones. I did a swooning little blog post about them previously. It's linked above.

    1. Aw thankyou. Also, I'm such a perfectionist with my eyebrows, so I'm happy you mentioned that.

I'm glad you stopped by randomly Alex.

  5. I'm not one for dancing much, but I'll dance for a friend's birthday. Like you, I prefer going to a concert instead.

PS You're very pretty! You've go this almost fairy-like look! (I hope you understand what I'm trying to say. I'm not sure hot to explain it.)

    1. Yeah, concerts are definitely top of the list for me. I'm a bit of a gig junkie.

And thanks love. That's sweet of you. I feel like the lashes definitely play a part in the magical look though.

  6. Those falsies are so much fun for a night out, they really add a special touch to your makeup :) Your skin looks flawless! The MAC eyeshadow is such a pretty colour and I love that Bourjois blush, it's one of my favourite cheek products for sure.

    1. Wow! That's a nice little bundle of compliments! Thankyou so much!

Yeah, the MAC eyeshadow in Blackberry is never, ever talked about - which surprises me. It's such a great matte eyeshadow.

Oh and I have to agree with you there on the Bourjois blush. This one comes up as a highlighter in these photos. The shimmer isn't that noticeable in person, but when flash is on it - BAM!!
